So my body hates me at the moment. My right leg more specifically. I have had knee pain for a while and have been to see a GP and had x-rays but they showed nothing and I never got more done because the pain stopped.
Well It came back... and badly. After a week, I just happened to notice that my right knee cap was not facing forwards like my left one... it was twisted inwards... um WTF!!! Off to the doctor who said I have a chronic dislocated patella. :( I have to have rehab and strapping for 6 weeks or so. To top things off I have a rather nasty ingrown toenail. I'm used to these but this one is pussy and very painful. GRRR.
I had an appointment with my GP today but my knee appointment clashes with it and now the next available appointment with my GP is NEXT monday. I hate to think what my toe is going to look like by then.

Stick with it
So day 3 of Week 4 and I'm doing alright. I didn't get up and go to pump class this morning like I planned, but I will go to the gym later this evening. Yesturday I did a pump class in the morning and RPM in the evening and then went to work. I must have had so much energy because I didn't manage to get to bed until 3am!
I can feel some changes in my body. I feel stronger and you can see my bicep muscles. My abs are quite hard when I tense them and you can even feel them when I'm not. I still have a lot of fat to loose of these areas before you can see the results of my weight training, but once the fat is gone, I'm gonna be toned, toned, toned! (when I say 'fat' I don't mean that I think I am fat, I have a layer of jiggle covering my muscles that is made of fat... hence I need to work on more cardio/weight training to loose it, no extreme dieting!)
My legs are still a dissapointment. I have a lot of cellulite for a 22 year old. Yes I know everyone has it and stuff, but mine extends right down to my knees. I'm hoping once I tone my legs more that the appearence will be reduced.
Well what else is happening? I'm smack bang in the middle of exams. In fact I was a goose and thought my geology exam was tomorrow when in fact it was today. I'm sad but never mind, I think I was destined to fail that subject anyway. I have biology on Saturday.
We also have 2 rooms available in our place as our housemates are moving out. This equals much stress and I think this could be a factor as to why I'm messing all my dates and times up at the moment.
I have one exciting thing to look forward to and that is an audition to be in the chorus of the G&S society's production of the Pirates of Penzance! Hurrah my favourite G&S!!!

week 4 begins
What a horrible week 3. I skipped out on the gym a monday, thursday, saturday and today. Not too cool.
I'm eating so much bad food and I seem to be going constantly broke so I'm buying cheap nasty food.
Come on girl! Remember what you want, why you started... Its been hot the last week so it should give you an idea about how much harder you need to work to be comfortable this summer!!!
NO EXCUSES>> DO IT NOW!

Week 3
Oops that went fast didn't it?
I didn't do so well this week. While I only missed going to the gym on tuesday, the sudden warmer weather and my final Gardasil injection meant I was a lot less enthused about going and when I did, I didn't seem to work as hard as i felt I should have. My diet has been pathetic :(
I'll get there :)

Week Two
hello. I've been so slack with my entries. Its not like anyone actually reads this anywy though!!
Today marked the begining of week two of my "health and fitness" makeover. I'm not sure if I've lost any weight, but I feel really good.
Ive eaten healthily this whole week, with only one or two slip ups. I ate potato chips on the day I went to the gym for 3 hours and burnt 1050cal :P
*takes up a glass* Cheers to week two.

So Much Energy!
I've been going to the gym everyday now! I feel fantastic! I did have a bit of a huccup with my geology test (as in it got me down) but now its over I feel good again.
Today I treated myself to my first sports bra since high school. Its a great fit and has a racer back so I can wear all my cute gym tanks without having visivle bra straps. I also got another pair of gym pants and two gym tops.
I also gave my room a much needed spring clean. Well... its still in progress, but all the hard stuff is done. I chucked out so much useless rubbish, Including an entire bag of out-of-date cosmetics. I found 3 old mobile phones to recycle and have a bunch of old jewelery, mobile chargers, and other bits n bobs to take down to the Vinnies store. Now to put everything away. *sigh*

ALL RIGHT!
Awesome! I went to the gym yesturday morning at 9am for an RPM class. My greatest friend joined me and we had fun. After we treated ourselves to brekky on O'Connell St, played some Left 4 Dead, watched Evil Dead II and ate salads.
I had awesome amounts of energy all day, and was in a fantastic mood. I kept smiling! Even doing the ticket shift at work wasn't so bad and I got out on time.
My friends leant me a good heart rate monitor and I wore it for RPM and then for the rest of the day. I'm not sure how accurate it is for measuring the amount of calories youve burnt when you are not working out but during my 45min class, my HR got up to 190 (ouch!) and I burnt 515 cal. I burnt an aditional 100 riding to work.
Today I feel slightly stiff, but my biggest issue is my throat. Its very inflamed and sore :( damn flu, leave me alone!
Well today I need to study for my big geology test, its worth 30% of my final grade. I'm going to go to body pump at 5:15pm and then work from 8-12.
later!

Gym-spiration!
I joined up with North Adelaide Fitness Centre today. It's been a long time since my Fitness First membership expired (when I swore I'd never join a gym again!)
I like the place... It's small and kinda crampy. The rooms are separated by long, narrow hallways but I'm keen to go to the Les Mills classes. In fact the lady give me 1 month of their wellness program for free! (Which is quite pricey). I have my session with a personal trainer on Tuesday. They will go around and teach me how to use all the equipment and write up a program for me to follow. As a part of standard membership, you get a program review every 8-10 weeks. sweet!
My goals are to be super fit and toned (and around 50kgs) in 5 months time (or by Clipsal 500 in March next year). According to the lady, this isnt unreasonable and she said I should see significant differences in 2 months. YAY!
Ive still got my damn flu, though it seems to have turned into a nasty nose and a cough. In fact I have really sore sinuses today, something I've never experienced before. Owwwwww

Dreams
Stull have the flu, though I think I am on the mend. For most of the week I have't been able to eat very much due to some horrible nausea. In fact I think in the last week I've eaten as much as I normally would in a day.
I'm going to brave work tonight even though my medical certificate says I shouldn't, but I need to live on something! I'm out of sick pay.
I've been trying for a long time (maybe over a year?) to get motivated to loose weight and tone up. In 2008 my goal was to be "hot" for Clipsal 500, 2009 (which was in March) because it's always hot and I never feel comfortable in shorts and I end up spending the whole time depressed and hot and bothered. Well as you can probably guess, I never made it. In fact I've been a steady ~68-70kg for a few years now.
Well I'm sick of it. I'm sick of feeling uncomfortable about myself. So this time I have given myself to clipsal 500 again (so about 5 months), to tone up and loose the hot chip habbit (I gave up dairy, meat and eggs so how hard can one more be?) and grow out my hair.
So basically, I'm hoping that in one years time my hair will have grown out to around shoulder-length and I'll be sporting a hot body... not skinny... I think I've been focusing on skinny too much, but a tight toned healthy body.
I have an appointment to see the North Adelaide Fitness Centre on monday, they have student rates which give you access to everything for $11.95/week!

Essay Done: POW!
I finally finished my essay. It's not the best but I think it's nice and concice. This was really the first time that I had trouble reaching the minimum word limit.
My flu is still pretty bed. I'm not looking forward to get dressed and trudging into uni to hand up the essay. I have a doctors appointment where hopefully I can get an extention on the geology test I have tomorrow eep! I'll probably also need to get a pass out of my ecology practical tomorrow which will involve walking along the Torrens River for 3 hours. Nope, bed for me!
I'm dissapointed that I will most likely be skipping chior tonight, but I think I will probably be too wiped out from my short visit to uni to even brave going and sitting at the back and just listening to the rehersal.

Flu
I've somehow managed to get the flu. I haven't had one this bad in a long time! It sucks a lot because I still haven't finished my essay. Attempting to write it now...

The Audition
Today was a messy day. It involved a lot of freaking out on my part. I auditioned to be a part of the Mahler 8 "Symphony of a Thousand" in the Adelaide Festival next year.
We had to prepare a short, lyrical, preferably classical piece of music to sing unaccompanied. I just could not find the right song to flatter my voice! About 1hour before my audition, I settled on a Thai folk song "Ngam Saeng Duan" from the 1999 festival of music. It was a good choice too! The audition went well, I got to sing some nice high notes and do some sight reading and I must have done alright as I got in! YAY!
I did manage to get some essay work done yesturday, but none so far today as I've been too worried about the audition. I'm off to work at 5pm-9pm and then straight back into it after!

Today I have achieved nothing...
I had full intentions of getting up early(ish) and starting my biology essay, then going to town for lunch with friends and comming back and doing more essay work before I started work (I'm a nightfiller at Woolworths). However I slept in, looked at various internet stuff, went and had lunch and came home and preceeded to delete about 1Gb of over-exposed or blurry photos off my harddrive. Procrastination at its finest.
All is not lost however. I start work at 8pm, which means I have until 7:30 to get some work done. Can I do it?

New Blog :)
Hey all!
The name's Janie. I lead a silly little life which consists mainly of struggling with BPD, work and uni. I have few hobbies, but I like to sing in the uni chior and am auditioning to sing in the Mahler 8 "Chorus of 1000 Voices" or something like that!
Well it's just turned 2am and I really should be getting some sleep. I've been a naughty lazy girl and have left all of my uni work to the last 4 days of the holidays and now have to complete an essay and study for a geology test at the very least. Ah bring on the stress!
edit: Its now 3am. I'm really REALLY good at procrastination. Go.To.Bed.
